Wood worker in France for the last 25+ years, Bruno Chaperon was trained at the famous French “Arts Dcoratifs” and “Beaux-arts de Paris”.
Mr. Chaperon has developed and patented the intricate “sinusoidal” marqueterie design you see on the Opinel knife. This intricate technique assures that every single knife is unique.
Handle produced using a patented and exclusive method of wood varieties assembly. Each handle is unique thanks to the selected species, the cutting and shaping. The handle is buffed (manual cotton felt polishing)
Please note that since each knife is unique, we cannot guaranty that the knife you will receive has a certain color or pattern. Wood used are but not limited to: Ebony, Rose wood, Violet wood, box wood, olive wood, walnut. Opinel Gift Box included.
Opinel No6 is the smallest model that features the Virobloc safety ring. This little knife is non threatening and very durable. It is small enough to be placed in a pocket or purse and will “deliver when needs be. Please click on “Care” tab above before considering a carbon blade Opine knife.

Cleaning
With your Opinel open, run warm water on the blade and wipe with a sponge and washing-up liquid. Rinse the blade with warm water while taking care not to soak the wooden handle. Leave the blade to dry before closing (this is not necessary for plastic handles).
Important: Do not immerse your knife in water as this could warp the wooden handle.
