Sandvik Stainless Steel
We use Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel. It is anti-corrosive thanks to the addition of chrome and requires no special maintenance. Its carbon content of at least 0.40% gives excellent cutting edge.
Safety Ring
Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all folding knives from the N 06. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety in transport).
Available in the following blade lengths:
8cm: The small slim knife, chic and feminine.
10cm: Ideal for filleting a fish and slicing thinly.
12cm: Thin blade and clean cut.
15cm: Thin blade and clean cut.
Beech is the most commonly used wood for the manufacture of Opinel handles. From France, our beech is hard, durable and easy to work. With a homogeneous appearance, its light color varies from yellow to pink. It is characterized by the presence of numerous small dark dashes.

Opinel trims its Effil knives with bubinga wood. Enjoy this collection with its delicate design and classically elegant appearance. Its ultrathin, pointed blade is ideal for fishing and preparing fish.
Bubinga is a compact African wood with a fine grain. Its color varies from brown to pink with purple veins.

The mythical tree of the Mediterranean! This hard wood has a yellow to orange appearance and has a dense and often tortuous veining. Soft to the touch it has a nice polish.

Cleaning
With your Opinel open, run warm water on the blade and wipe with a sponge and washing-up liquid. Rinse the blade with warm water while taking care not to soak the wooden handle. Leave the blade to dry before closing (this is not necessary for plastic handles).
Important: Do not immerse your knife in water as this could warp the wooden handle.
