Whether in their artistic practices and processes, or in the use of these elements in their compositions, Nature is in the spotlight. Edible and wild plants, aromatics, mushrooms, or oral compositions will be featured in sublimated illustrations on the hornbeam handles of No.08 knives.

• Honoring nature in his design for the No.08 Artist Limited Edition IV Nature knife, MioSHe created a silhouette that brings to mind “Vrikshasana”, the yogic tree pose. Based loosely on Selene, goddess of the full moon, or perhaps Demeter goddess of agriculture and harvests, the strength of her posture transforms her into a fruit tree.
• Perrine Honor – Honors festive and colorful aesthetic builds a critical universe where madness and spontaneity prevail, much like in nature.
• Rommy Gonzlez – With her design for the No.08 Artist Limited Edition IV Nature, Chilean artist Gonzlez, presents us with an inspired expression of nature, showcasing the complex forms of fungi. A combination of astonishing beauty and exquisite flavors that delight our senses, the colorful artwork invites us to open our perception and connect with nature.

This knife includes a custom designed gift box.

Technical Characteristics

• The MioSHE No.08 folding knife, features a matte black PVD blade and Virobloc.
• Martensitic Stainless Steel: Hardness 55-57 HRC. European origin. The stainless steel used in Opinel blades is a grade optimized to guarantee both high corrosion resistance and high mechanical performance. The blade offers excellent sharpness and high resistance to abrasion (wear) which allows it to withstand regular contact with hard materials, such as ceramics, before requiring re-sharpening. Stainless steel has the advantage of requiring no special maintenance under ordinary conditions of use, unlike carbon steel. Nevertheless, it can meet its limits when it is put in prolonged contact with an aggressive environment (acid, salt water, detergent …).

• Safety Ring: Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all folding knives from the N 06. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety in transport).

Cleaning

Hand wash only. With your Opinel open, run warm water on the blade and wipe with a sponge and washing-up liquid. Do not immerse your knife in water, as this could warp the wooden handle. Take care not to soak the wooden handle. Dry the blade before closing.(this is not necessary for plastic handles).
