The Tranx is simply perfect It is a work of art and machinery that sets new standards in light and lighter vertical, saltwater fishing styles, such as Light Jigging and Tai Rubber.
It’s a very strong, durable and reliable reel, which is suitable for both fresh and salt water purposes. These kind of reels are often used for fishing with heavy and big lures for big fish. The Tranx is made for this job and that’s why it’s not one of the lightest. The Shimano Tranx, despite its small size, is a heavy duty, baitcasting reel. Its reeling action is smooth and effortless. Also the reel feels very refined when you are holding it in your hands. Weighing only 328/340 gr, this reel balances Game Type jigging rods perfectly and the hi-speed 7.6:1 ratio, along with the 100 cm retrieve per crank makes retrieving from the deep easy.
From top to bottom Shimano designed a bait casting reel, packed with technologies and practical features. With max Drag Power over 8 kg, the S3D spool with ultra light rotation and reduced vibration, the Long Crank Handle, Clutch lever and other important details, so now it is more comfortable to hold.
The Tranx can be perfectly used for freshwater pike fishing with heavy lures like jerkbaits, big crankbaits and spinnerbaits with weights well over 100 grams. For saltwater, the Tranx can be used for baitcasting the same kind of lures, but will be more popular for jigging or live bait purposes for big and hard fighting sea fish.
The X-Ship Gear System transfers cranking power to the spool, with the least power loss in gearing. A tough coating, protects the body frame and spools twice as well as standard anticorrosion treatment. The Shimano Tranx is also equipped with Metal Level Winder, Clicking Metal Star Drag and Smooth Carbon Drag Washers.
