Shimano renewed and improved the EX rod series. The blank is slightly changed and matches the communicated casting weights perfectly now.
The new design is modern and noticeable, partially because of the new Seaguide XSS reel seat with Vibraspot.
The Catana EX Tele rod range is developed to be very versatile, with models for every kind of fishing. That’s why the action of this rod is ‘moderate-fast’. This means it’s a rod with a nice progressive action, which is ideal for all-round usage. This telescopic version is very suitable for anglers who want a compact rod for travelling, to keep it in the back of the car or just for ease.
Made of Carbon XT-40 & Geofibre a naturally derived component delivering high rigidity, high compression strength and high tensile strength to rods.
Vibra-Spot – Ergonomic sculpting of the front grip to reveal the blank gives a much better grip on the rod for casting and playing action, more importantly putting your finger on the pulse to feel each twist, turn and lunge of fish on the end of the line. The Vibra Spot on rods is extremely effective when using braided reel line.
XT-40 & Geofibre – The Shimano Catana Spinning EX is made of XT-40 Carbon and Geofibre, a naturally derived component delivering high rigidity, high compression strength and high tensile strength to rods. XT Carbon is used throughout the Shimano rod range. The number following the XT (XT100), denotes the quality of carbon fibre used. The higher the number, the stronger the carbon. Where different types of carbon are combined to create the required action both numbers will be shown (XT60/40).
