There are not many Light Rock Fishing minnows in the market that can cover many different approaches, in different areas of the water column. The Bassday eat Eat however, is versatile enough to do so quite easily. The Bassday Beat Eat is one of the more unusual lures in the Bassday range, as it features a reverse bib. Its slow sinking rate and seductive wobble, is irresistible to the touchiest of fish. And it swims up on the retrieve. Despite its small size, this lure boasts with extremely unusual technical characteristics. Lets examine closely some of those.
Every spinner knows the leading Japanese company Bassday for its classic and unsurpassable Log Surf Minnows for medium spinning. At some point, we have all rigged a Log Surf, or a Sugapen to the end of our line. But this well-known company, also designs and produces classic, small lures of excellence, for other finesse techniques, such as Light Rock Fishing.
One of these lures is the sinking micro-minnow Beat Eat specialized for ULRF and LRF techniques. It is available in two editions, 55mm in 2.6 gr and 47mm in 1.7 grams. The lip of these little lures, has a very unusual reverse shape, which is meant to provide a very tight rolling action and the stability needed during twitches and jerks. The internal weights apart from long cast, provide a slow sinking character, something extremely precious in shallow, or still and clear waters.
With the Bassday Beat Eat micro minnow, one can search different parts of the water column. By letting it sink and jerking it, the lure will swim towards the surface, with its mouth looking upwards, due to the reverse bib, a posture that mimics small, frightened bait fish. In every command originating from the tip of our rod, the Beat Eat will instantly respond, parting significantly from the line of retrieve, moving in an erratic pattern and produce a side to side, rolling motion.
The sinking density offers excellent casting distance and its on-the-drop action is also very interesting, being alive with minor rolling, even during pauses. Try to retrieve it with pauses and the Beat Eat will swim upwards and then drop back to the bottom, with an irresistible motion. Try a steady retrieve and it will swim along, just below the surface with a tight wobble.
Beat Eat is suggested by Bassday as a Minnow bait especially for big, White Seabreams. Indeed its characteristics make it absolutely suitable for these species, also for Saddled Sea Bream and of course Sea Bass for any Light Rock Fishing Mediterranean angler.
