Leading Japanese company Yamaga Blanks has upgraded the BlueCurrent rod series, with the Blue Current III.
The Blue Current series is one of the rod series that incorporate most of Yamagas expertise and the values that made this company, one of the leading manufacturers in the world.
This is not a mere model change. On the contrary this kind of numbering means that Yamaga has designed the third generation of the Blue Current series, giving the III new characteristics and identity, by starting at the core of the product. What Yamaga Blanks aimed to achieve with the Blue Current III series is to:
The following image presents a comparison of the bending curve of the Blue Current III, when loaded with a 250 gr weight, but does not represent the full potential of the rod. To achieve such a result, it is not only the construction of the blank, but the exact positioning of the guides and the type of handle used.
Model 82 is the almighty, technical rod, when you want to master tactics in the light game category. The Blue Current III 82 has been fine tuned to be sharper and achieve more distance than previous models. The butt section has been enhanced. Furthermore the whole blank bends smoothly and recovers powerfully. Sensitivity and flexibility of the tip section have been sharpened, to instantly and accurately transmit the information that any angler needs. Its second name is Power Finesse Model, as it can target Seabass by handling plugs around 7 9 cm, or soft baits with jig heads up to 20 gr, aiming to Rockfish.
The 76 Stream rod has been fine tuned to target prey hiding in complex structures. This 76 Stream has been designed to be combined with various kinds and sizes of plugs, top water lures, Minnows, Sinking Pencils targeting Mackerel, medium size Seabass and Sea Breams. This rod has moderate action and comfortable recovery speed, which is applied all along the rod in a harmonious way.
The Blue Current III 69 is a rod for aggressive fishing with jig heads, plugs or pencil lures. It has been designed from top to bottom to accurately control the motion or your lure. The blank has moderate action, it is highly sensitive and instantly transmits to your palm, little but vital information, as slight current changes. If you are performing aggressive twitches and jerks, this is the model to use. This is a Light Rock Fishing rod, for the anglers who have developed their technique, rely their game on knowing what the underwater conditions are and fish aggressively.
The 711 is a lighter rod model to be combined with light weight jig heads, that will take your Light Rock Fishing technique to unimaginable levels, without unnecessary wobbles. Even if you cast small and light soft baits with jig heads at a long distance, you will not lose the sense of your bait and instantly feel slight changes of the current, or the movement of your lure. The Blue Current III 711 can be described as a rod of long length in LRF, which will instantly transmit all information of the underwater world, even in deep areas, or against currents. Although you can cast far with this rod, you will feel as if your lure is next to you. It has a flexible and sensitive tip section, which will assist the fish into biting your jig head and a powerful butt section which will result to a safe reeling in.
If you wish to fish with various kind of lures, or try a number of styles with one rod, the Yamaga Blanks 74 is the one to be called into action. 74 can handle many kinds of Light Game fishing such as jig heads, sinking lures, metal jigs, or plugs. Provided by Yamaga with high sensitivity, which will not be lost even if you fish deeper than 10m. The blank of the 74 will not give you unwanted wobbles when you cast and once fish is on, the whole blank will be bent smoothly, to absorb the first run of large target. You will definitely be able to fully appreciate the benefits of the Blue Current II series, after you fish with the 74 model.
The newest (February 2024) model from the Yamaga Blanks Blue Current III series, is the 78. This is a rod developed by Yamaga for fishing all year round, in a variety of terrains. The Blue Current III 78 is very close to a piece of art, that offers an absolute sense of control and clarity to the user, without falling behind in strength when required. It has been designed for Sea bream and Seabass fishing with the use of hard lures. Its flexible tip and strong blank perfectly compose a rod designed to ideally fish with minnows. However, it will also work soft, silicone baits with jigheads, or floating lures. The overall setup of the rod with the flexible, but quick recovery tip, the strong body and the short butt, will offer a relaxed and enjoyable fishing session as well as a sense of confidence in every fight. The Yamaga Blanks Blue Current III 78 is a rod addressing Black sea bream, Sea bass, small migratory fish, rockfish, etc. YB suggests to combine it with a Daiwa LT2000 to LT2500 reel, or a Shimano 2000 to 2500 reel.
