Another big project of Tsouros Marine is finally available. This time, it was Palms and in particular Mr. Hotoshi Yomoda, Overseas Production Manager of the Japanese company, that made us the honor to create 3 brand new colors in the Degree 50S lure series, exclusively for our customers. Under the guidance of internationally acclaimed angler George Tyrikos and with the help of various partners, three unique colors were designed, for Light Rock Fishing enthusiasts.
The Degree is a basic Minnow for Light Rock Fishing enthusiasts, of the Bit Arts line from Japanese leading company Palms. It is Palms flagship in the field of small lures. It is a redesign of the older model Salt Degree and it has now been improved to respond either to simple retrieve, or to intense twitching.
This tiny, Sinking Minnow is only 50 mm long and weights 5.3 grams. The treble hook placed in its belly, is adjusted on a swivel to avoid hook outs during battle. Palms calls this Anti Hook Out System.
The Degree can achieve remarkable casts and at the same time it is very usage friendly. It gets really alive with intense wobbling, even with a steady fast, or slow retrieve.
This lure also excels with intense twitching. Make the cast, lower the tip of your rod and perform continuous, sharp strikes. This lure is simply made to Twitch, just trust it.
The Degree is a small technological miracle when it comes to its weight and how perfectly it is responding at every twitch without losing its swimming action. Even though it is really light, it embodies all the experience and know-how of Palms. You will be amazed to see how intensively it moves with every random twitch in a 3D mode and how it is able to get away from a straight trajectory line. This action brings about incredibly many strikes and this is a fact, after a lot of tests in Mediterranean waters.
The Palms Degree is an excellent choice for big White Seabreams in LRF, but also for many predator fish like Saddled Seabreams and Basses. Palms has fairly named it (to quote the words of the well known field tester Numata Yunichi) as the core model, that is the basic model in Light Twitching game.
The Degree addresses to anglers of all experience levels in Light Rock Fishing, who want to have numerous options while fishing. Being a sinking lure and very precise in the way it responds to our commands, the Palms Degree gives us a chance to move around different depths and improvise the course of our lure, by allowing us to decide when we will pause and where we will focus. Because of its great precision, we are able to pin-point the spots we will insist at, or what to avoid (rocks, seaweed).
The Palms Degree is a lure with worldwide reputation and it is about to be your basic tool in shallow water, but also in harbors and capes.
The Small Salema
The small Salema (Salpa Boops) is an all year round species, that is never missing from the Mediterranean coastline. And although it is known to be one of the most common prey for any predatory fish, never before has a large Japanese manufacturer introduced this color into a Light Rock Fishing lure. Leading company Palms and verseas Production Manager Hotoshi Yomoda, closely collaborated with well-known angler George Tyrikos to develop the Palms Degree 50S Mediterranean Custom Colors. A highly reflective holographic foil was selected and on it they based the first Salema design for the Greek and Mediterranean market. Small details such as the textured back, the yellow color in the eyes, the pearl color of the belly, complement the classic yellow-orange stripes of the Salema fish and create a unique result. The Palms Degree 50S Salema is a “natural” color for the entire Greek and Mediterranean coastline, which produces maximum results in the least ideal conditions, namely those of dead calm and clear waters.
The Small Rainbow Wrasse
There are many colors of the Coris Julis species in the Greek seas, with the most common of all being the Rainbow Wrasse (Gylos) from which, this new Degree color has been inspired. Emphasis has been placed on the light green color, that surrounds the classic orange sideline and generally on matte colors, which characterize small reaction lures. The Rainbow Wrasse is the ultimate treat for predators such as the Sea Bass and Dentex, while the White Seabream will chase them away furiously, as they see in the Wrasse a particularly annoying and greedy invader, especially during their breeding season. The rationale behind this color combination, in addition to reproducing one of the most common prey fish in the Mediterranean, is that it can work in cloudy and turbulent water, but also in low light conditions. At the same time, even in mild weather conditions, the physical presence of the Rainbow Wrasse makes an impact in the water column. This is the first Light Rock Fishing lure, in this color combination, developed by a large Japanese company.
The Common Pandora
The Common Pandora is the most special of the three color combinations and represents another innovation in lures of its kind. The colors and the design for this new Degree 50S have been inspired by the offspring ofPagellus Erythrinuswhich grows in the Mediterranean coastal zones. The offspring of the Common Pandora has pink and yellow shades with intense, bright blue spotsall over its body. An intense holographic foil has been used to incorporate the colors combination, but most importantly, the tiny glow details. Its purpose is to explore the predatory potential of an area, as this Degree lure is the one to cast first, due to its ability to perform in many different conditions, from calm and clear waters to turbulent and murky. This color is the perfect combination between a natural color and a reaction color.
