The Squall II Star Drag LW has proven worth of its name and its American heritage and is now considered one of the top reels for Trolling, or Jigging and for other vertical fishing techniques, as these are practiced in the Mediterranean. It incorporates all of the proven features of the Squall family, with the addition of lighter weight, stronger drag settings and an Instant Anti-Reverse bearing, in a more compact package.
The Level Wind on the Penn Squall 15LW is completely synchronized and works even in the Free Spool function.
The Squall II now features Penn’s proprietary Fast Gear Access Sideplate, so that maintenance is more angler friendly than ever. The Squall II Level Wind reels also feature a 3+1 Shielded Stainless Steel Ball Bearing system and HT-100 Carbon Fiber Drag System, entirely surrounded by a lightweight graphite frame and sideplates.
HT-100TM drag washers provide smooth drag under heavy loads.
Line capacities on spool are marked at 1/3rd, 2/3rd and full capacity.
Versa-Drag system allows for multiple drag settings for various fishing conditions.
Versa-Handle system allows the angler to choose how long the handle should be in less than a minute, tools are included with each reel.
