YGK has further improved the Jigman Ultra X8 to be made of even stronger fibers. 15 years after its market debut, when a shock was created in the jigging scene, the Ultra range has finally undergone a full modification and now under the X-Braid brand, Ultra has evolved by benefiting from the advanced GPD processing technology, to the latest WX construction method. This makes the Jigman Ultra X8 the No.1 in impact resistance braid.
Among all the braided lines in the market, the YGK Ultra X8 series, have the smoothest surface and the thinnest line diameter. At the same time the most advanced fibers have been used, to achieve about 50% more maximum strength, compared to standard spectra braided lines. This super-thin braided line offers a much longer life span, as well as almost no memory. The YGK WX Braiding technology makes the line with the least stretch and tightest line body.
Almost all of the lines called PE, are braided using a string-making method called Kakuuchi. The raw fibers on the spools, which rotate clockwise and counterclockwise, are pulled out little by little, intersecting each other and woven into a single line. Braid twist occurs when the raw fiber is pulled out from the spool, just like when the line is released from the spinning reel. At that time, the clockwise spools, spin clockwise, the counterclockwise ones, spin counterclockwise and the raw fiber is woven with precision, resulting in a straight and well-balanced line with no single twist. YGK developed the machinery that is required to achieve this, in-house.
