The newer version of the Egi OH K squid jigs, has been created to achieve the Optimal Fall & Darting action. This is a Yamashita squid lure (), developed as a “Low Squid Activity Model”, that can produce results, even in tough and high-pressure conditions.

This Yamashita Egi is not available in Japan. The color range has been developed for overseas markets, hence the name Global Colors.

The Egi OH K series is not new in the market. Its development has been based on the previously, successful model OH K, featuring various Yamashita technologies for the premium range of lures, such as the Hydro design. The Yamashita () Egi-OH K Series has the most stable sinking posture and is a true value, in all weather conditions. They are equipped with a breakthrough development in squid design, the Hydro Fins, that were developed and mounted in order to achieve swimming action. The transparent Hydro Fin plays a role, such as the rudder in a ship, that eliminates wobbling in windy and wavy conditions. With the Hydro Funs the K Series squid jig () will continue to sink in a straight line.

The Egi OH K Series will minimize the influence of external factors such as wind and waves, to achieve a stable fall and simultaneously achieve a just about enough and no more than necessary darting action. This is the action that is preferred by extremely low-activity squids.

Another factor that Yamashita () successfully tackled with the Hydro Fin, is the excessive darting action, from left to right, that squids find unattractive. The Yamashita () Egi-OH K Series has the most stable sinking posture and is a true value in all weather conditions. The transparent Hydro Fin plays a role, such as the rudder in a ship, that eliminates wobbling in windy and wavy conditions. With the Hydro Funs the K Series squid jig () will continue to sink in a straight line. The effect of the Hydro Fin is not to inspire unnecessarily wariness to the squid.

Keimura paint has been used to create the life like, 3D eyes of the K series squid jigs (). The eyes are circulated in glow resin that reacts to ultraviolet light.

Yamashita proceeded further with the Egi OH K Series Neon Bright with the Hydro Body design. The Egi OH K has a large, flat surface in front of the belly, just around the sinker and from the middle, to the back of the belly. Then suddenly the body narrows down towards the Hydrofin. This design reduces the shaking of the Egis body, efficiently displaces water and achieves a stable fall and smooth darting action.

The double crown hooks have been tuned with the rear crown opened slightly wider to increase the hook up rate.

Secondly the Yamashita () has added the Warm Jacket technology in the Egi OH K Neon Bright squid jigs (). Cephalopods can distinguish their prey even by tiny variations in the preys body temperature. These differences from the surrounding temperature can be as small as 0,5C or 1C. The Warm jacket can retain heat much longer than any other fabric and thus, when we charge our squid jig () with a UV flash light, the temperature created by the UV light emission, or even by simply holding the jig in our palm for a while, can generate the extra temperature that we need.

Last, but not least, the Yamashita Egi OH K Series feature the Neon Bright technology, that completely changes the conventional concept of Egis color. When an angler thinks of “UV reflection”, he thinks of Keimura (a fluorescent purple color, which emits pale light when exposed to ultraviolet rays) and Glow (which stores the energy of Ultraviolet rays and emits yellow-green light). Fluorescence colors have the property of receiving the energy of ultraviolet light and converting it into visible light. The light wavelength variation in this, new series emits light in red, blue, and green. But when it is exposed to ultraviolet rays, it emits red, blue, and green like neon colors. It is believed that squids have an excellent ability to distinguish the shades of colors and the amount of light. There are 3 color variations in the Egi-OH K Series Neon Bright being produced by Yamashita. These combinations are distinguished as per the color of back.
