Guelly Jack (Aji) fishing is very popular in Japan, so much so that there is a whole fishing style built for it. In the Mediterranean, the rods we use for this kind of fishing, target Guelly Jacks and Saddled Seabream. Aiming to create an ultra-light rod, that achieves long casts and handles ultra-light lures, Jackson designed the new Ocean Gate Aji rod.
The Ocean Gate Aging & Mebaring model was originally released in 2015 and was well received for its cost performance and high quality. Since then, Jackson decided to develop a rod exclusively for Ajing. In one rod it accommodated all the technical elements required for Ajing fishing. Jackson reviewed the blanks design to improve the balance between lightness and sensitivity, along with the aggressiveness demonstrated by anglers.
The extremely light blank offers absolute control and feel of the underwater behavior of our lure, even when using very light rigs and lures in the range of 0.4 to 7 gr. The Jackson Aji rod series will offer a new fishing experience to Light Fishing enthusiasts.
The guides of the series are Fuji Stainless K-Series, with Alconite Ceramics to prevent the braided line from getting tangled up. The reel seat is Fuji VSS.
