The Yamaria Boar Slow Sinking lure, is a jerking minnow for Big Game anglers, designed to target migratory fish from rocky shores, such as Bonitos, Amberjack and Bluefish.

When asked, what kind of action is required from a Rock Shore Bluefish Minnow lure, many anglers will spontaneously think of the following traits:

  • Casting distance, that allows fishing even in headwinds and rough weather
  • Ability to handle high-speed retrieval, to keep up with targets that swim at high speeds

These are only two areas in which the Yamaria Boar excels. However, and especially when it comes to Bluefish, there is more to what a lure must adhere. When developing the Bore lure, Maria carefully studies the “Action when Jerking” that turns on the Bluefish’s predation switch. The sliding dart to the left and right, that can be obtained by short jerks, which surpasses conventional Minnows, strongly stimulates the predation ability of the chasing Bluefish and induces a bite. A short jerk, with line slack causes a sideways sliding dart and horizontal stay, stimulating the pursuing Bluefish to bite. A medium retrieve (1 rotation of the reels handle per second) produces a sharp, strong vibrating Wobbling & Roll action.

Unlike Offshore fishing, Rock Shore fishing has a limited selection of lures, depending on the weather. In order to make Plugging games possible in headwinds and rough weather, when standard Diving Pencils cannot be used, the Magnetic Center of Gravity Shift allows for long-distance casting through headwinds and allows for searching a wider area (80m was the average casting distance of 5 casts, with a 10ft rod, an S8000 reel, PE #4 and Nylon 80lb leader). It is very important to have the right rod, with a Jerking Action, to enable the Boar to move from side to side quickly and bring about the aggressive response of immigratory species.

The Yamaria Boar Slow Sinking is available in two sizes: 19.5 cm at 85 gr and the downsized model of 17 cm at 60 gr for PE4 class. Depending on the hook setting the lure might change from Slow Sinking to Slow Floating, if for example a Single Hook with slim shaft is used.
