Tai Rubber lure fishing originated in Asia and is a fantastic way of catching weary saltwater predators. Currently a popular method in European waters, it has massive potential, which some anglers have already exploited. To better experience this exciting fishing style, the Engetsu BB has been selected from the highly respected Shimano JDM collection, to offer an excellent combination of value and performance. Very sensitive and light, the soft tip action and powerful butt of the Engetsu BB creates the perfect lure action when used correctly.

The Engetsu BB is built on a sensitive High Modulus Full Carbon blank, enhanced with Hi-Power X to reduce blank twist and deliver the correct action for fishing Tai Rubber lures. The soft middle section smooths out any harsh rod, or reel movements, to ensure the rubber tail of the lure works to maximum effect, when retrieved slowly from the bottom. The inclusion of a sensitive Taftec Alpha tip highlights tentative bites and maximises the transmission of every movement of the lure.

In the Engetsu BB you will also find the X Seat Extreme, designed to allow the angler to hold the rod easily and comfortably. It has been designed to increase the contact surface of the reel seat, with the anglers hand, enlarging the grip and keeping the wrists angle close to straight, reducing trembling and fatigue.

Fitted with lightweight Fuji SiC K-type guides, which are spiral wrapped for improved rod action, the Engetsu is fitted with an advanced Shimano X reel seat suitable for small round or baitcasting reels and a split grip EVA handle.

Hi-Power X

Hi-Power X construction uses diagonally-wrapped carbon tape to form an array of “X” shapes on the rod blank’s outermost layer. Taftec Alpha

Taftec is a unique solid tip that realizes flexibility and delicate bending without reducing the diameter of the tip or its strength. The Taftec tip is used throughout the Shimano rod range where sensitivity is an important requirement of the rods. Taftec Alpha tips, enable rod tips to be made thinner and more sensitive, which is especially useful when finesse fishing. Bites are maximized and fish feel less tension when inhaling the lure, resulting in more hook-ups.
