The Certate SW fully inherits Daiwas cutting-edge technology, such as the Air Drive, which is the design concept of the next-generation spinning reel, the aluminum, full metal, Monocoque body and Mag Sealed and pursues the essential performance, as a model dedicated to saltwater fishing.

By making the body of the Certate SW larger than the LT model, strength against bending and distortion has been improved and the space inside the body for gears has also expanded. More available space allowed Daiwa to make the Drive Gear larger and thicker. And that’s not all. The engine plate that supports the Drive Gear unit has also been made thicker, creating a solid foundation.

The Certate SW 6000 changed to a spherical Air Drive Rotor which improves strength by distributing the force, over a wider surface. Furthermore, by thickening and enlarging the Rotor, Rotor rigidity has increased by about 28% compared to the 2021 SW model.

The Drive Gear, which uses the same G1 duralumin as the Daiwa Saltiga, has been significantly thickened, by up to about 18% compared to the 2021 SW model. This has significantly reduced deflection under high load by about 36%, achieving ideal meshing. This has resulted in a strong winding force with very little power loss.

The larger and heavier the lure used and the more powerful the target species, the more you will feel the power loss when reeling in. It is in the fierce battle of power that reel weaknesses are exploited, imposing a heavy burden on the angler. Daiwa overcame this issue by using an one-piece, molded Monocoque body, but the Certate SW, a saltwater model designed for use with PE lines of No. 2 or higher, has been uniquely redesigned in many places, to maximize the benefits of the Monocoque body. By designing the Monocoque body with an emphasis on strength, it is possible to achieve winding power, without any loss of power. The Daiwa Certate SW has been made as strong as possible, for the same weight.

Daiwa also improved the Waterproofness in the Certate SW 2024 as performance against seawater is the most important issue for saltwater specifications. By applying Daiwas unique waterproof and dustproof technology, Mag Sealed, to the Pinion Gear and Line Roller parts, and by significantly strengthening the waterproof structure of the handle, Daiwa has achieved waterproof performance that exceeds that of the previous model.
