Boat mooring, rubber snubber compensators are designed to improve shock absorbtion on mooring lines.
The forces the mooring ropes is exposed to, are taken up by the elongation of the mooring snubber, reducing the load on the rope as well as the boat’s cleats. Snubbers absorb line tension caused by wind and waves tugging at lines.
They are great to absorb excessive strain on mooring ropes and also reduce the risk of breaking them, or loosening the rope fittings.
Run mooring rope through one end, put three or four turns around the snubber and then feed rope out the other end.
Sizes relate to the rope diameter.
