The Espetit Heavy has been designed for those situations when you need powerful gear, to catch large predators, that are feeding on small prey. The Espetit Heavy can catch from Seabass to Tuna, also works great in freshwater when we need to fish for big predators, with pelagic habits and we require a small yet strong lure.

Lets examine this amazing lure, from a little bit closer. Its structure and design have been developed with heavy fishing in mind. Heavy fishing can mean a lot of different things when it comes to technique, or species, but to begin with the Espetit Heavy needs a powerful rod, withMedium Heavy, Heavy, or Extra Heavy casting weight and Regular action, not Extra Fast when casted from the shore. Having said that, this particular lure can be also used for Trolling from a boat, or kayak.

The Fishus Espetit Heavyis versatile in its uses. It can be used inshallow areas, of less than 1 m deep, when the weather is calm; lift the tip of your rod upwards, perform a steady retrieve, without regular stops. However, its design better addresses the requirements for deep fishing, where it can reach the bottom layers of the water column. As you let the Espetit sink, it does so in an 100% horizontal position and it descents at a rate of 1 meter per second. Thechrome finished,inner weight produces reflections, as it sinks with vibrations, that attract the attention of nearby predators.

When it comes to the rod work, the Espetit Heavy needs strong and energetic motions, intensive jerks and fast retrieve to bring it to life by life meaning rolls and wobbles.But versatility means different species and different needs. As a result,fast motion and rattling noise is not always our ally. When pelagic species feed on sardines, after the feast is over, there are fishes here and there that appear to be disorientated, or hurt. This is where this lure works best, as it imitates the dizzy fish.

It goes without saying that such a compact and heavy lure, can reach very far, provided the equipment is right. For boat trolling it can work with fast retrieve, at a max speed of 3.5 to 5.5 knots.

The Fishus Espetit Heavycomes rigged with #4 treble hooks and can tackle Bluefish, or Amberjack. If you decide however to go after Tuna, it is advised to replace the Treble Hooks, or rig it with 2/0 size Assist Hooks.

It is available in 9 awesome colors, including 2 special mimetic colors, which change the appearance of the lure, as it gets into the water.
