Lots can be said about the casting distance of a Seven Sense series rod, or its handling. You may not notice much at first, however anglers will instantly notice the differentiating advantages of a G-Craft rod, with just one cast. The TR Midnight Jetty can handle a wider range of lures compared to previous models, but lets not forget we are dealing with a rod of the highest level of completion, that will create a new era in Seabass fishing.

The previous versions of the Seven Sense rods featured Titanium frame, SiC ring guides, that weigh 4.9 gr. The third generation of the Midnight Jetty Wangan Drift Special 872 is equipped with Titanium frame Torzite ring guides, which weigh 2.7 gr. The difference results in an overall 44.9% weight reduction achieved in the guides alone, while the weight of the rod is at 139 gr.

The tip of the MJS-872 is made of composite 30T + 40T Carbon and the butt is made of 30T + 40T + 46T. The blank design of the first 872 started with 46T Carbon in the butt section. In the newer version G Craft has increased factors such as “tension”, “sensitivity” and “repulsion” of both the tip and butt sections, characteristics which are found in the more advanced Limited model, MJLS-882-PE. The main difference with the Limited is the use of only one type of Carbon material and manufacturing method, which is the decisive difference between the TR and the Limited versions. Overall, the 872TR has being designed as an “easy-to-use Limited”. The Casting Weight is max 28 gr, but the 872 TR is excellent with 5 gr Sinking Pencils, to 21 gr Vibration lures. It has the necessary strength in the butt to tackle fighting predators, with ease.

The sub-name “Drift Special” has been selected to depict the rods capability to hook up, even the tiniest bites, by letting a sinking Pencil drift with the current and reach distances that you can barely reach with a cast.

The G-Craft Seven Sense TR Midnight Jetty was extensively tested, before going into production with:

• Medium sized 5 gr sinking pencils, 4 to 7 gr jig heads with silicone lures, to 18 gr vibration lures

They feature a semi-fast tip which can perfectly handle all the aforementioned lures, and create hooks that prevent Seabass from getting away, allowing the angler to have full control. With a G Craft rod even the slightest bites can be turned into hook ups.
