They are made of One-Piece, cold forged, Aero Aluminum. The Eva material is sturdy and allows you to spin the handle with comfort, even when your palm is wet and exert strength when the going gets tough.
Unfortunately not all reels can benefit from the addition of a Gomexus knob. To make sure that you can install a Gomexus EVA knob to your reel, you need to check if:
If your Shimano, or Daiwareel, is included in the lists of Compatible reels, then you do not need to make any other checking. It fits.
