The Teibou Head can be used from the shore, for light fishing, with low Casting Weight rods; it can prove to be amazing in Light Rock Fishing; it can also be used from a boat for Light Vertical fishing.

Fishing with Tenya from a boat is a huge chapter in sea fishing, with great history and incredible catches. In the Mediterranean, Tenya continues to be particularly popular with various offshoots, like Hitotsu Tenya to be continuously evolving. This time we are presenting a new variation, called Teibou Head, for a technique called icro-Tenya. This is an amazing fishing technique, which provides a lot of options and fishing alternatives.

The Teibou Head can be used from the shore, for light fishing, with low Casting Weight rods; it can prove to be amazing in Light Rock Fishing; it can also be used from a boat for Light Vertical fishing.

The Teibou Head of Japanese company ayashi is an Ultra Light Tenya jig, whose size begins from 2.5 to 7 gr, in a variety of colours. The jig head has a very strong, with narrow bent hook (thats the main difference of the Teibou head with the common, small jig heads) and also carries an extra small hoop, to which a single Assist Hook is rigged. Its purpose is to assist us in trying lots of different lures, baits and rigging methods.

Fishing with Soft Lures and Biodegradable Baits

With micro Tenya, we can first rig small soft lures on the solid hook of the jig head and then cross the assist hook through the body of the soft lure and pull the hook out, close to the tail. Now our soft lure is safely rigged and we can fish with it in different ways, as in slow recovery, or light jerks, as you would fish worm type of lures (those with the split tail).

Alternatively you can rig a biodegradable bait, ideally set on the Teibou Head with the help of the Assist Hook again. If the length of the shank of the assist is not enough, you can create your own Assist Hook. These rigs mainly refer to Light Rock Fishing techniques and prey. You will target big Sea Breams, Gilthead Seabreams, Parrotfish, even Stripped Seabreams both at shallow and deep waters, or if you decide to play with more intense rod motions, you will excite predators such as Saddled Seabreams and False Scads.

Fishing with Shrimp

As a fishing technique, Tenya has always favored a whole shrimp, as bait. The image below will give you an idea of how this can work the right way, either with fresh shrimp, or with live one caught with a small landing net. If you rig it correctly, then the chances of a strike will significantly increase. Shrimp is one of the most efficient baits for Teibou Tenya and refers to a variety of techniques from LRF, to the use of hand line for vertical fishing and various boat fishing methods.

Fishing with Squid Strips

Cutting a fresh squid in strips, or using its tentacles, is another beautiful rig you can create and with great success in this Micro-Tenya style. Besides from the smell and taste, the squid strip can provoke the eyesight of the fish, by adding motion to the aroused senses, just like silicone lure would do.

Fishing with Live or Fresh

Experimenting with live bait and the Teibou jig head, has no limits. First of all, we can hook up (with the help of silicone braid) pieces of live worms baits. We can also experiment with tiny crayfish, but also with baits that can be found at the shore like limpets, shells, mussels, etc.

This small sized Tenya head, opens the door to plenty of flexibility and experimentations with a variety of soft lures and fresh bait, while all the time being very discreet and doesnt affect the presentation of the bait, so the fish doesnt get suspicious. With the sturdy Jig Head and Assist Hook it ensures the hook setting at the strike and leaves only a few chances to the fish to escape. It allows us to give movement to our bait and reach particular depths with smaller grams, hence the rig can stay in the mid depths, or the particular zone we have targeted. From Black Seabreams and Saddled Seabreams, to White Seabreams and Gilthead Seabreams, the Hayashi Teibu Heads, follow the footsteps of Ultra Light Tenya. Either with our special LRF gear, or from a boat, fishing in a traditional hand style, the Hayashi Teibu Tenya will become a favorable, convenient, very flexible and efficient technique.
