The (Kudos) Lures series is a 100% Greek project, designed, tested and developed exclusively in Greece by George Tyrikos Ergas (Angler), Costas Kezoudis (Designer and Manufacturer) and company Tsouros Marine (Retailer). (Kudos) is an innovative breakthrough in the field of artificial baits, a new and completely original proposal to Mediterranean anglers. is 100% handmade and has been developed to meet the requirements of Mediterranean fishermen in the fields of Light and Heavy Rock Fishing, taking in account the peculiarities of our coastlines and fish habits, in every step of the design process.

has been designed for the Mediterranean coastlines that hold White Seabreams, Saddled Seabreams and Seabass. George Tyrikos, having vast experience in the field, experimented with various forms of own made lures until with the collaboration of well-known Cypriot lure builder, Costas Kezoudis – they came up with the lure. What triggered the whole effort was the answer to two main challenges in the Light fishing field. First, to create an effective lure that accurately reacts to different retrieval approaches without getting tangled up in rocky parts, or becoming inactive in difficult weather conditions. Secondly, to fill in a significant gap in the lures market. In particular to become an advanced lure amongst the very few that resemble those wide and flat baitfish, that are abundant in the Mediterranean coast and are at the top of the food chain of predators.

The shoreline terrains to be covered with this lure, is vast. From rocky shallows, to sharp and deep areas, from estuaries and streams that meet the sea, to ports with strong currents, the challenges for the were many. Thus, two different lures were developed; one that covers basic Light Rock Fishing needs in challenging shallow areas and one that covers deeper parts of the water column and require heavier presentations, occasionally in difficult weather conditions. The comes in a LRF Pencil version and aCrankbait version for HRF / Light Spinning.

The shallow flats, the rocky coastline, the full of rocky structures and obstacles beaches is the main habitat of the large White Seabream, the Saddled Seabream and the Seabass. These places, scattered throughout the Mediterranean, are the most technically demanding shore points for fishing, but at the same time they retain most of the species that find shelter there and access to food. The Pencil version of (Kudos) has been developed to unlock the potential of such areas. A number of features have been incorporated, that make the Pencil (Kudos) one of the most specialized and unique, mass production lures in the market that has been made exclusively for the needs of Mediterranean waters.

The general shape and size of the (Kudos) imitates the flat and wide small baitfish that can be found in the Mediterranean coastline. Its profile has enough volume to displace a lot of water during retrieve, making it easily noticeable, even between rocky structures. At the same time it creates minimal water resistance and can be utilized with rods of max Casting Weight close to its overall weight (about 7 grams). This lure has been designed to achieve very long casts, a necessary trait in the shallows. Its shape gives the angler the opportunity for casts even in difficult terrains and in head wind. The treble hooks have been positioned in such a way, in relation to the voluminous front part of the body, so they can never get tangled up, something terribly important in LRF. White Seabreams that make sudden attacks and are often not caught, were at the focus of the design process.

Technically speaking, the Light Rock Fishing Pencil can be used in many ways and literally leaves even the most advanced fisherman the opportunity to use his imagination, to create amazing presentations. It is a lure that has been designed to offer in depth knowledge and to constantly reveal things, the longer someone fishes with it. It all starts with the long casting property, a unique trait in its category. Very few lures in the market, have such long casts in this weight category. It is very effective with very slow to moderately steady speed retrieve, forming an alluring “S” course, with a simultaneous gentle rolling. But where it really excels is when the angler applies a technical presentation with Twitching and Jerks. (Kudos) comes to life with balanced jerks and fast recoveries, techniques which are known to unlock LRF prey in the Mediterranean coast, like nothing else. During pause, the lure sinks with intense vibration, which ensures that – in fact – it never “rests”. Its ability to sink gives us the opportunity to go lower in the water column, while its shape allows us to react quickly, enabling the lure to produce an immediate response to our rod commands. The Pencil has been designed to have a slightly inclined posture underwater, so that its treble hooks do not get tangled up in shallow waters. Hence an angler can literally fish in a few feet of water, with any retrieval style. With the Pencil you will spend endless hours of experimentation, simply because it deliver what you have in mind. It is an LRF Pencil with almost no technical restrictions.

The lure series is wire-through, with stainless steel 316 wire. Each lure is hand-made and finished with the best paints in the lure building market, reinforced with consecutive layers of epoxy varnish, for durability that cannot be found in any mass production bait. The casting of the material, the foiling, the painting, the varnish are all done manually by Costas Kezos, making each lure unique. The treble hooks are BKK antirust, wear resistant, with very low weight so they do not get tangled up during retrieve. The color range for the Pencil version include completely natural to reaction colors, in order to have an option for every condition.

The Pencil is better set up with sturdy LRF rods, with Medium Fast action and Max. Casting Weight of 10 gr. The best setting is with PE 0.3 0.5 and leader of 0.20mm. Reel size 1000.
