Jigs are a widely used lure, due to the long casting distance that they can reach and the effectiveness in a wide variety of fish species, but they require certain experience, practice and effort to be used effectively. All of the issues above are a thing of the past, with the Megabass’s Makippa jigs series. Makippa, has been carefully designed to minimize the chances of failure in use and becomes a “friendly” jig in the hands of anyone who decides to use it.

The “tail” of the jig carries a blade that flutters and rotates freely (thanks to the presence of a swivel) during an ordinary, steady retrieve, attracting all kinds of fish. The Makippa Casting Blade Jig, is rigged with carefully selected in terms of size and weight, strong assist hooks for secure strikes. Makippa’s meticulously calculated geometry and careful placement of the components, do not allow the jig to rotate, but allow it to move and slide, creating reflections that will attract nearby predators. If you begin the recovery immediately after the lure touches the water, you can scan the surface to check if predators actively hunt in the area, or allow it to sink, to test the action in midwater, or the far end of the water column.

Makippa is rigged with two single Assist Hooks, the first near the head (which works if the jig is attacked from the bottom and towards the surface), and the second near the tail, where most of the fish that follow will strike. However, there is an additional eyelet for another Assist Hook in the belly of the Megabass Makippa, if a quick adaptation of the way we fish requires two, or three single hooks, or a Treble Hook on the jig.

The list of prey which a Megabass Makippa jig targets, is almost inexhaustible, as none of the predatory fish will resist. You can use it in Mediterranean waters with Light Shore Jigging, or Heavy Spinning gear. Another advantage is that, it is one of the very few (if not the only) jig, which can work properly and effectively when fishing Surface Trolling from a boat, as long as you adjust the speed of the boat; leave the rest to the Makippa jig.
