The HRF Jigger Elite rod is the result of the collaboration of Nerd Fishing with Mr. George Tyrikos – Erga. The HRF Jigger Elite is a handmade rod, suitable for the extremely popular and demanding fishing style of Heavy Rock Fishing in Greece, thriving upon the total control of small jigs and Pencil lures, even in extremely difficult weather conditions.

After a long trial and error process, loads of evaluating and testing, Nerd Fishing finally selected a really Fast Action blank, which combines sensitivity, but also tremendous strength with Striking power. Its length is 2.34 m, which allows even the slightest command from our rod, to pass easily to the lure. It can cast lures up to 18-20 grams with ease, at admirable distances, while it begins to “feel” the action of Minnows as light as 3-4 gr. The blank of HRF Jigger comes from the company American Tackle and originated from the dynamic fishing of Seabass, in fresh water, using Crank baits. In the developers opinion, its action and overall is the most suitable for most of the fish a Mediterranean angler will meet at the shores and in extreme cases it can comfortably manage the biggest surprises that the HRF fishing technique has to offer.

Heavy Rock Fishing is a dynamic fishing style, which combines a variety of motions, lures that require precision in the commands and on the other hand sudden and deep strikes in hard jaws, such as those of White, or Gilthead Seabream. You might even need to lift the fish from high rocks without a landing net, or exercise retrieve in abnormal angles, with sudden changes in torsion.

This rod comes with a counterweight adjustment system (20 gr in total) with washers, for the perfect adjustment of the rod, depending on the type of bait used. The ability to transform it in a forward weighted rod for example when using Jerkbaits, or rear weighted when we want to play with jigs, is a very useful feature, especially when fishing for many hours. The weight adjustment system also helps to alternate reels, depending on the conditions without affecting the balance of the set.

The HRF Jigger Elite rod by Nerd Fishing has been developed with the best available materials, currently available in the rod building market today. Starting with the Fuji High Frame Titanium guides, of the KR Microguide series, with SiC rings and antitangle technology, that prevents the formation of wind knotts, especially in strong wind conditions. The in-depth study of the exact positioning and distribution of the guides on the blank, helps transmit more accurately and quickly to the angler’s hand, any information arising from the end of your line. To this end result, the hollow handle provides a significant help, as it functions as a magnifying glass and multiplies the effect of a bite, or the tough of your lure to a rock. The Aero CCT (Compressed Carbon Technology) reel seat by American Tackle, is of top notch standards and offers incomparable handling in sudden, sideway moves.

The one-piece, short handle is also made of high density EVA material, to maintain the weight of the rod at low levels and at the same time, produce a very beautiful and minimal visual effect. Most importantly, they offer comfort during use and durability.

There is nothing on the HRF Jigger rod, that does not have a purpose; there is only what is necessary in order to keep the weight low, maintain balance and minimalistic aesthetics that emphasizes the usefulness of the rod. All raw materials are of the highest quality in the market, as handmade rods can not be built on compromise.

The HRF Jigger Elite Custom rod is ideally rigged with reels between 2000 and 3000 size and braids from 0.4 to 0.6 PE.

There is literaly no lure that the HRF Jigger Elite can not handle. If you are fishing with Pencil, Minnows, or Crankbaits, or if you are a DUO, Palms, or Savage Gear fan, it matters the least. This HRF rod can handle them all. The only lure category that we do not suggest to be used with this rod are soft, silicone baits.

The HRF Jigger Elite is also ideal for fishing the handmade Kudos lure (especially the Crankbait version), as all tests have been conducted with the Jigger rod.
