Most lures in the Pencil Popper category have a slim profile and a small mouth cup. The motion they produce is one that excels in walk the dog, like an escaping bait fish, but do not always manage to attract Seabass from a wide area. So what O.S.P aimed was to develop new lure which preserves the main features of a pencil popper, with an appealing power and one that anyone can easily work.

This makes the ability of the lure to attract the attention of seabass, even in tough weather conditions, from a distance, possible. When Bass actively seeks for prey close to the surface, rig the Yamato from the lower ring. It will produce a high pitch, dog walk action, which moves the lure forward with one type of action. This way the O.S.P. Yamato acts as a top water plug, which creates a strong appeal by spreading sound and splashing around. That is why the Yamato can catch bass, even if the lure lands far from the spot you aimed at.
On the other hand, when Seabass does not hunt close to the surface, use the upper eyelet, in order to enable the lure to fish under the surface. First allow the Yamato to dive by strong jerks and twitches, with short pitch. This will shake the head right and left, with flashing, just like a Jerk bait. A simple retrieve makes the O.S.P. Yamato move like a swimbait, in an S like action.
The development of the O.S.P. Yamato lure enabled anglers to fish in various conditions and adopt to any situation. It works as a topwater plug, which has a strong appeal, flashes and swims in an S like action, without changing lures.

Normally pencil poppers have only one cup in front, but Yamato lures are equipped with two side cups. The bottom area of the hollow area in the mouth is made to push water out like a lip.
