This time two new colors were created, again in the widely used amongst LRF enthusiasts, Palms Degree family. The two new colors bear the signature and aesthetics of Giorgos Tyrikos. His long experience in the design, as well as fishing with lure baits, allows him to instinctively know which colors, shades, reflections and combinations of these can make a lure take off in terms of performance.

The Degree is a basic Minnow for Light Rock Fishing enthusiasts, of the Bit Arts line from Japanese leading company Palms. It is Palms flagship in the field of small lures. It is a redesign of the older model Salt Degree and it has now been improved to respond either to simple retrieve, or to intense twitching.

This tiny, Sinking Minnow is only 50 mm long and weights 5.3 grams. The treble hook placed in its belly, is adjusted on a swivel to avoid hook outs during battle. Palms calls this Anti Hook Out System.

The Degree can achieve remarkable casts and at the same time it is very usage friendly. It gets really alive with intense wobbling, even with a steady fast, or slow retrieve.

This lure also excels with intense twitching. Make the cast, lower the tip of your rod and perform continuous, sharp strikes. This lure is simply made to Twitch, just trust it.

The Degree is a small technological miracle when it comes to its weight and how perfectly it is responding at every twitch without losing its swimming action. Even though it is really light, it embodies all the experience and know-how of Palms. You will be amazed to see how intensively it moves with every random twitch in a 3D mode and how it is able to get away from a straight trajectory line. This action brings about incredibly many strikes and this is a fact, after a lot of tests in Mediterranean waters.

The Palms Degree is an excellent choice for big White Seabreams in LRF, but also for many predator fish like Saddled Seabreams and Basses. Palms has fairly named it (to quote the words of the well known field tester Numata Yunichi) as the core model, that is the basic model in Light Twitching game.

The Degree addresses to anglers of all experience levels in Light Rock Fishing, who want to have numerous options while fishing. Being a sinking lure and very precise in the way it responds to our commands, the Palms Degree gives us a chance to move around different depths and improvise the course of our lure, by allowing us to decide when we will pause and where we will focus. Because of its great precision, we are able to pin-point the spots we will insist at, or what to avoid (rocks, seaweed).

The new color combinations have been based on transparency, a characteristic that refers to offspring. Fish offspring is at the base of the food chain in marine ecosystems. Based on the above assumption, the two new colorations were developed to increase the rate of attacks by predators who feed on offspring, or simply want to repel it from their territory of dominance.

TYR-05 color is a simple and more natural looking approach, for days when fish react to natural colorations. The internal foil that causes reflections, covers only half of the lures length, including the head and gills, while it fades away diagonally towards the belly, giving less foil on the lures back. By placing reflective foils on half the length of the lure, Palms was able to modify the volume of the lure in the eyes of its predators, creating an illusion. This illusion causes confusion, increasing the rate of violent attacks, a fact that has also been observed in other artificial baits, that feature a similar presentation. The high quality ABS plastic that has been used, is translucent and colored on the back, with a deep Blue that gets lighter and lighter as we get closer to the lures belly. The sharp difference between the back and belly will cause a harsh color shift, when moving the rig, especially when heavy Twitching is applied, which can make the Palms Degree perform to its maximum. The set is completed by gold bullets, along the sideline of the Degree.

The TYR-04 color is essentially a reaction color, without losing the naturalness of the Mediterranean species. TYR-04 is a coloration recommended when fish appears to be more reactive to bright colors. The internal, reflective foil covers half the length of the lure, as in the TYR-05, for the exact same reason, however it is gold in color, giving the Palms Degree a darker look for days when we choose to create less reflection close to the bottom. The ABS material too is transparent, with the inside of the lure being visible, allowing available sunlight to shine through. The back of the Palms Degree TYR-04 is blue, with golden iridescence, its side is transparent and the belly has been painted in deep red, achieving an impressive change of colors, as it moves. And here Palms has painted bullets on the lateral side of the lure, with the difference being they are silver in color.
