This is a reel designed for the modern and advanced Surf (Beach) Casting enthusiast. A max drag of 12kg is suitable for fish up to 100lb, while the capacity with braided line will not allow you to run into any problems.
By matching the proprietary CNC Gear Technology with the HT-100 drag technology, the Battle III Long Cast has the guts and drag to handle serious abuse. The special Slow Oscillation gives a perfect line-lay and in combination with the forged and machined aluminum Long Stroke spool, this results in great casting distance and making this reel your choice for both SW and FW fishing techniques where distance casting is required.
CNC Gear Technology
When it comes to crafting reels, precision is key. Thats why Penn uses state of the art software and CNC machinery to cut the Battles Drive and Pinion gears straight from the metal. Compared to gears fashioned from molds, the Battle is not only stronger in design but also more accurate in alignment. With true alignment comes flawless performance and a reel that can endure the most formidable of elements.
Full Metal Body and Sideplate
Tough from the inside out, the Battles rigid framework keeps gears protected and in alignment. The handle and spool are aluminium and the body is graphite.
HT-100 Carbon Fiber Drag System
Saltwater fishing requires drag that lets you work with the fish, not against it. Our high-tech carbon fiber drag washers are lubricated with Penns proprietary grease to ensure that your first catch, reels in as smooth as your last, no matter how heavy the load. Engineered with longevity in mind, you can pull in 100 miles of line off of the reel with no wear on the washers.
Superline Spool
No backing needed on this braid-ready reel. The Battle comes stock with a tailored rubber gasket to keep superline from slipping.
