The Minnow Weedless hooks are of EWG type. The EWG hooks have been very popular for many years. You can easily tell them apart from the extra wide gap and from the tip of the hook, being directly in line with the eye of the hook. With a regular Texas-rig, the point of the hook is pushed through the entire cross section of the bait and when a bass bites the lure, the plastic bait is pushed down exposing the point. To ensure that the hook pushes through the body of the silicone lure and that it connects deep in the fish’s mouth, Savage Gear lifted the tip at a higher level than the eye and also incorporated a wider opening on the lures back. This way, you can not miss a fish.
The difference between the Savage Gear Minnow Weedless and theSandeel V2 Weedless hooks, is the width of the gap. The Minnow Weedless hooks have a larger bend compared to the V2, hence the tip of the hook reaches higher and is best suited to soft baits with bulkier body.
