The Shimano Exsence Silent Assassin 140S is a 28 gr sinking lure, produced with the AR-C / Jet Boost technology for long casts and balance and the Flash Boost technology that creates flashing effect, like a reflective mirror.

The Shimano Exsence Silent Assassin lures are neither new, nor untested in the Mediterranean waters. They have become known amongst Spinning enthusiasts, through their numerous catches and are now available in 14 cm length and 28 gr weight, in a sinking version. As with their predecessor the 120F model the 140SFB incorporates unique technologies and features.

Shimano originally designed the Silent Assassin for Sea Bass fishing, but quickly realized that it is equally suited to other top water predators. From the moment the Silent Assassin lures were released in the market, they revolutionized the field, with Shimano’s AR-C technology, which incorporates a spring-loaded piston into the lure. During casting, the piston moves to the lures tail, shifting the center of gravity, resulting in the shot reaching record distances. As soon as the bait falls in the water, the spring pushes the weight forward, transferring the center of gravity again, so that the swimming motion becomes natural and balance is restored, as the retrieval commences. The end result was that the Silent Assassin can achieve very long casts, improved accuracy and maintain its balance in rough water conditions. In particular the 140S 28 gr model has recorded casts of 70 meters, enabling this lure to be used when the fish are hanging back from the shore, or boat.

However, it is the Flash Boost technology that make these lures unique and very effective.What is the Flash Boost technology that Shimano applies to a number of lures and squid jigs? The Flash Boost technology features an internal panel, which shimmers continuously. This Shimano patented system, uses a reflective mirror, suspended by micro springs, which harnesses light and UV rays, to attract prey throughout the water column. Even the mildest touch on a Shimano Flash Boost lure will trigger the reflective mirror. As a result the bodys kinetic energy, produces the continuous flashing effect, which is highly effective to these visual hunters. The Flash boost technology allows the Shimano lures to be visible from a long distance, regardless if the water is murky, or conditions are low light.

For the Shimano Silent Assassin you can try a simple, steady paced retrieve and the lure will unleash a tight rolling action. A more aggressive action can be reproduced if the angler uses sharp jerks, or mild, but long pulls of the rods tip. The sinking version of the Silent Assassin is the lure to turn to when the fish are lower in the water column.

Almost half the lures body is transparent for the Flash Boost effect to be visible. For the rest of the body, Shimano introduced a holographic film, which creates a remarkable life-like scale pattern.
