This is a new manufacturing technology by Sunline, which inserts resin to the inner part of the line. This technology brings about tremendous improvements in a braided line, such as high smoothness, which results in longer casting and duration. These are practical advantages for any angler using braided lines.

Siglon performed a number of tests, to demonstrate the advantages of ADV line, compared to a conventional Siglon PE. The first test involved a comparison for water repellency between Siglon PE x8 and PE ADV. When we put a water drop on the Siglon PE x8, the drop soaks into the line, in the same way as with most normal PE lines. However, the Siglon PE ADV shows excellent water repellency properties due to a special resin that penetrates deep into the fiber. This technology is the first in the industry and it has been named DRT, which stands for Deep Resin Technology.

With the DRT technology, fibers are also densely combined and this leads to high water repellency. Due to the special processing, the water goes off from the line easily, so the line is unlikely to become heavier. As a result, you can expect longer casts, not only because the ADV braided line does not absorb water, but also because it is smoother and slicker.

Siglon compared in term of slickness, the PE ADV 12lb (#1) and the Siglon PE x8 16lb (#1). The Siglon PE ADV showed an overwhelming difference during the test, casting a 10 g weight, improving slickness by 25%, or in other words, by reducing friction by 25%.

The following test, had to do with casting distance. In this test, Siglon compared the PE ADV 12lb (#1) with PE X8 16lb (#1). The weight of the sinker was 15g and they casted the sinker 30 times with each braided line. The difference was around 3m in average and maximum 5m longer distance with the ADV.

The final test was an abrasion resistance test, between Siglon PE ADV 12lb (#1) and PE x8 16lb (#1). A 50 gr sinker was used. The Siglon PE x8 16lb (#1) breaks after 135 times of imitating a cast and retrieve, while the PE ADV 12lb (#1) breaks after 404 times. This is a big advantage the DRT technology brought, as due to its high abrasion resistance, it is possible to fish near rocks.

Furthermore, due to DRT processing, the Siglon PE ADV is stiffer than standard braided lines. With a soft PE line, troubles such as entanglement and wind knots often occur, but such troubles are reduced with ADV’s moderate stiffness. This also makes it possible to cast deeper into the seabed.
