Crankbaits are lures that are being used mainly in freshwater, for fishing species such as Seabass (Small-mouth bass, Large-mouth bass). Crankbaits are characterized as hard artificial baits, with a wide lip, that enables them to sink below the water surface, during retrieve.
They are used to make catches under particular conditions, such as of suspicious prey at a certain depth. The size and the angle of the lip are the factors that will determine the sinking speed and the swimming depth. Longer lips, at a lesser angle, will create greater immersion than short tongues at a steeper angle. All you have to do with the Crankbaits is to cast and simply retrieve, covering as much water surface as possible.

The series of Yo-Zuri 3DR-X Flat Crank, floating lures, has been designed to swim marginally below the water surface, but also in very shallow places, where Seabreams, or Seabass can nest. They are also designed with a rounded, lightweight Crankbait design, so that it can be used with Light equipment.
